![]() Playback within Premiere Pro CC was super jittery. I opened the exported project to review the footage and verify it would be usable if I needed to recut (or migrate to using ProRes upfront for smoother editting in the future). So I didn't "need" to keep the entire clip for this purpose, I wanted more of a 5GB storage and not the 50GBs) I loved that I got trimmed down files from my LONG source files (it was an event that ran several hours so the source footage were long clips with small portions editted for a recap video. File sizes appeared to have a bit more data. I editted the entire project without transcoding and during export figured I'd attempt to save trimmed footage in the "ideal codec" format. My footage was shot at 1080 with a variety of cams. I did a project and then exported it with trimmed footage as ProRes 422 LT (and ProRes 422 as a separate test first with worse results). I haven't found any of this to be true though. ![]() ![]() I am aware it's less compressed then mp4 and have read over the years that it's "the ideal codec" to transcode your footage for so it edits more smoothly. I have been trying to use it with littel success. So I was very excited that Premiere supports ProRes 422. ![]()
